Weekly Pinterest Project- Week 19: DIY Foaming Baby Shampoo/Wash

Good Monday morning!! I came across a DIY foaming baby shampoo and wash on Pinterest from this blog and decided to give it a try. I love foaming soap but the Method brand we purchase is not the cheapest. I’ve used Dr. Bronner’s before but it was always so watery.

I bought a bottle of Dr. Bronner’s Unscented Mild Baby Castile soap at Target (I got a large container, which was pricey but it lasts a LONG time since you dilute it) and some peppermint essential oil at a local grocery store. I had an empty Method foaming soap bottle, so I cleaned it and removed the label.

I combined one and a half cups of water, one fourth cup of Dr. Bronner’s soap, and approximately four drops of peppermint essential oil.

I mixed the ingredients together and poured the soap into the dispenser. It makes approximately 16 ounces and my dispenser holds ten ounces, so I poured the extra into a container to use at a later point.

I was impressed-this soap foams up well and smells great! Plus, it’s all natural! I’m going to try it with Will and Harper tonight during bath time. I also plan on using it as hand soap in the bathroom. My next plan is to have my husband help me make these cute DIY mason jar foaming hand soap dispensers. How cute are those?!

Trying out this soap has made me want to DIY laundry detergent, household cleaners, and possibly some wool dryer balls. What household items do you DIY?
